WARNING: WAY TOO EXPENSIVE DOCTOR
Dental implant for 8500 Swiss francs, without bone grafting!!!!
Dental costs in Switzerland are high, but at this implant center, I paid far too much for a dental implant without bone grafting and complications, even by Swiss standards!
I went to this practice with a different estimate from another doctor for 3300 CHF because, based on the reviews, I wanted to see a better specialist! We always discussed the costs verbally, and I thought if I paid 4000 CHF without complications, it would be worth it! However, the doctor apparently only talked about the implant costs and not about the entire treatment process. He explained a lot and talked about everything that could go wrong, and the urgency was so great that I had to get an implant as quickly as possible, otherwise the existing bone would be lost!!! I went to this practice on and off for over a year! During my tooth extraction, I received an injection on the wrong side. I also had two unnecessary appointments that cost me a lot of time and effort, and in the end, nothing needed to be done. The waiting times were always very long, and the dentist was always late! I had three expensive CBCT scans (3D X-rays) done, and my bill exceeded a total of 8,500 Swiss francs!!! This large sum was never even mentioned! I called four other dentists and asked about the maximum cost for such a treatment with everything included: not a single dentist in Switzerland, in Bern and Zurich, mentioned a higher amount than 5,000 CHF including bone grafting!!! In contrast, this dentist on the phone mentioned a bunch of random factors but not a single amount!
When I asked for a cost estimate, not all the costs were listed, which, of course, was obvious to someone who doesn't know anything about dentistry as the total cost!
I tried to find out through various organizations whether an implant could really be that expensive. My conclusion: the doctor isn't a member of any organization, and they can't help me! The doctor isn't a member of the SSO (Swiss Society for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery). My legal insurance can't do anything either, since I didn't request a cost estimate from the beginning. It's obvious that other doctors would only need one CBCT scan for this kind of treatment, not three!
I paid these costs to put this unpleasant chapter behind me and want to prevent anyone else from falling into the same trap! My trust has been deeply violated because I blindly trusted a doctor and didn't ask about costs in writing from the start! He never once, not even in passing, mentioned the hefty bill he would send me in the end; otherwise, I would never have done anything like this with him!
I've been a patient here for many years and am very satisfied. As someone with dental anxiety, I'm very glad that Dr. Weber Branca takes my fear seriously and has always found a way to make the treatment bearable for me. The results here are lasting. Dr. Weber Branca is practically always available by phone for his patients. Even if you need help abroad, he can connect you with a dentist through his network. Furthermore, I've appreciated the friendliness and competence of the entire team for years. Thank you!
Dear Dr. Weber,
The thorough examination and review of my situation with the bridges a few days ago required considerable experience and expertise. You possess both! Of course, you know that yourself.
However, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your patience, your clear explanations, and for clarifying everything, including the continuation of the inhaler treatment. I believe another dentist might have seen an opportunity for approximately 16,000 Swiss francs in revenue and advised me to have everything removed and replaced. Like every other patient, I appreciate your professionalism.
Thank you very much, and may you continue to have a beneficial hand for the well-being of your patients, a keen eye, and a good sense for both teeth and patients!
Many thanks to your team for their outstanding support every day.
Sincerely,
Marianna Leyerseder
