My review is directed at Dr. Julia Launert.
Abridged version for READERS:
I experienced Dr. Launert both as a patient and during an internship. Unfortunately, she was very unfriendly towards me during the internship and clearly abused her power. Despite my legitimate right to take breaks and my young age (15), I was criticized, treated condescendingly, and humiliated in front of trainees. She treated me disrespectfully, while at the same time being friendly to the trainees and even gossiped about me.
Long & detailed VERSION:
I visited her previous practice as a patient and was also able to do an internship there a few years ago. However, during the internship, I experienced her as a mean person. She showed no consideration for me. During the internship, she abused her position of power as a doctor towards me as an intern. The absurdity of this is that there was no valid reason for her misconduct.
As usual, I had a ten-hour internship day, including a two-hour break, and when it began, I found myself in a treatment session that dragged on considerably. I signaled to her that my break was about to begin and that I would therefore take it. After this break, she behaved terribly and criticized me immensely. She was very condescending and made me feel it in front of her trainees. She didn't offer any constructive criticism; it was obviously a personal attack. She asked me who I was to behave like that. After her announcement, she treated me like air for the rest of the day and was extremely friendly to her trainees. She also tried to gossip about me with her trainees.
I was 15 years old at the time, and she knew that I had no previous experience in a company. She was upset that I wanted to take a break, which was already significantly shortened due to the delayed treatment.
Her practice had a work culture where both employees and interns were extremely subservient to Ms. Launert. This had nothing to do with professionalism; it was a clear abuse of power. She conveyed this image to her trainees, and some of them adopted this misleading mentality. Furthermore, there was a treatment that had long been completed, but during which she actually spent more than an hour talking to the patient about SUPERFICIAL topics. During this time, she literally and knowingly made me stand in a corner. My legs and feet were allowed to suffer because of a private conversation.
I could have said something, but after the break incident, she said I had no right to clearly and calmly explain my needs. Everything had to go her way.
I had a HORRIBLE time with Dr. Julia Launert specifically and would encourage every reader to think twice before contacting this woman.

Of course, it should also be noted that she
is aware of her position and doesn't immediately reveal her unprofessional nature to patients, as an employee/intern over whom she can exert her power. She knows full well that she is dependent on her in such a situation and therefore crosses many boundaries. The doctor, on the other hand, depends on the patient, which also explains her insincere kindness.
I was merely a means to dampen her stress and problems, nothing more. She may be doing her required job as a doctor, but as a person, I found her incompetent. Fortunately, the other doctor she collaborated with was professional and friendly. As one would expect from a doctor.
Some people just age, but they lack maturity—that's exactly what happened with Dr. Launert.
First, I went to Dr. Launert for a dental cleaning. It was very pleasant and completely painless.
When Dr. Launert asked about it, I told her about the headaches I'd had for years, which sometimes seemed to originate from my very back tooth – though that was always just my feeling.
Dr. Launert took me seriously immediately and consulted Dr. Shelkoff. It was determined that a root canal was necessary. Dr. Shelkoff was able to perform it promptly. I experienced no pain during this procedure either.
The treatment was somewhat complex, requiring three applications of medication into the root canal to heal the existing inflammation. Throughout the process, great care was taken to monitor my body's signals.
After the final filling and some rest for my tooth, the headaches finally disappeared. I couldn't be more grateful.
Two months after this treatment, I returned to Dr. Launert. I went to Dr. Launert to have a missing corner on my upper front teeth corrected—a problem that had been bothering me for ages and made one of my incisors look severely crooked.
Dr. Launert and Dr. Shelkoff are both very experienced and competent dentists who complement each other perfectly. Dr. Launert's eye for aesthetics finally gave me a smile I truly love, with minimal effort. Dr. Shelkoff relieved me of pain I never thought I'd get rid of.
Both are empathetic and friendly, and their team is also kind, very helpful, and simply fantastic!
Thank you for everything.
